Is there some difference between using "make" or "brand" to talk about a product?

Hello Stéphane,

Yes, there is a subtle difference!

Make is the manufacturer and brand is the name it is known by.

Which brand of coffee do you prefer?

Which brand of cigarettes do you smoke?

What make of car are you going to buy?

What make of washing machine do you think is best?

Hope this helps.

Teacher Elaine
